MEET DR. CARLA KEKEJIAN
Dr. Carla Kekejian is a bilingual speech-language pathologist licensed in the states of California and Utah. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Dr. Kekejian earned her Ph.D. and M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Utah. Additionally, she holds an M.A. in Education with a specialty in Human Development & Psychology from UCLA.
Dr. Kekejian was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Her clinical practice is deeply influenced by her personal experiences of growing up, studying, and working in diverse urban communities within Southern California. Serving as both an academic and speech-language pathologist, she dedicates her teaching, research, and therapy to advancing evidence-based, ethical, and innovative clinical practices.
Inspired by her upbringing as an Armenian-English bilingual speaker and driven by her professional expertise acquired during her doctoral program, Dr. Kekejian possesses unique proficiency in assessment and treatment procedures for bilingual children with speech-language impairments. She has extensive experience in crafting comprehensive clinical reports, facilitating Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, collaborating with special education teams within school districts, and leading teacher training programs.
Dr. Kekejian established SoCal Speech-Language Therapy, PC (SoCal Speech) in July 2022 with a mission to provide personalized, evidence-based services specifically tailored to address the individual communication needs of each child. At SoCal Speech, we firmly believe in the transformative power of early intervention, with the goal of enhancing not only the lives of children but also their families. Our clinic, situated in La Cañada Flintridge, California, serves as a welcoming space for families seeking dedicated and compassionate speech-language therapy services.
